The Taxi Driver of the Year Show is an annual charity event organised
by the London Taxi Driver of the Year Charity Fund to raise funds for
Taxi-Trade based causes.
The event
includes a series of driver "tests" including driving tests
and "the knowledge".
This Year's
event was held at Olympia on Sunday 1st September, and also included
several trade exhibitors, including Twenty Twenty Services Limited.
We also sponsored three vintage London Taxis which were on show at the
event.

Both
of these vehicles have Ford Engines and gearboxes, with fibreglass
wings and roof. The rear doors are aluminium on an ash frame,
and the bonnets are steel.
|
This
has a Ford engine and gearbox, and an all-fibreglass body, including
the grille and bumpers. It uses Ford Transit running gear, and
can run on LPG or Petrol.

|
These
classic vehicles came complete with authentic electromechanical
taximeters bolted to the area above the exterior luggage compartments:
distant relatives of the small and stylish meters available
from Twenty Twenty for today's London Taxis!

We would like to congratulate
the organisers for the success of the show and hope that this will
be repeated in future events.
